T shirt printing
Using the information gathered in the viewing and training day (9 May) the volunteers will create their own 'images of protest' in the form of screen printing on T-shirts. Selected images will be included in the V&A exhibition and the on-line protest exhibition.

Protest poster & T-shirt design
Viewing archives of anti-war protest images of the late 60s early 70s with the V&A Print Curator.  Looking at ways of caring for and accessing print archives.

The same young people using digital cameras and Photoshop to insert images of themselves in photographs from the 50/60s.

Photographic archiving
Sourcing photos which tell a story about youth culture in the 1950's and ‘60's.

1960s Music workshop 
Researching musical influences in the 1960s, e.g. research into anti-war protest music and album covers; compile CDs of 60s music; create soundtrack for documentary.

Mapping exercise 
Using archive material to find out where famous sports people ‘hung out’ and developed their skills in the 1950s & ‘60s, connecting the past with the London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics Games.

Oral History workshop 
An introduction to the basic principles and techniques of oral history; learning how to interview & record people’s life history, memories and experiences. Participants will also interview elders about their life in the 1950s and 1960s.

Making garments from original 1950s patterns & learning about the development of fashion in this period.
