To coincide with the Hanging Out Project's Victoria and Albert Museum Display, young volunteers were asked to write a series of short monologues, interpreting the experiences and stories that they have heard from elders during project oral history sessions. The monologues, performed by budding young volunteer actors, explore the anxieties and adventures of youths from diverse backgrounds growing up in London during the 1950’s and 60’s.
The monologues were performed and well received at the launch of the Hanging Out Display at the V&A against the backdrop of a 50’s cafe wall mural, created by the students at Haverstock School. Future performances of the monologues at the V&A are to follow.
